Architects Northwest can turn your ideas into reality. In person and via phone, fax and e-mail, our Architects and residential designers will work with you to capture the essence of your building site, concepts and requirements. Our commitment is that your custom home will be an expression of your personal goals and lifestyle.

We keep the custom design process simple. We interview you to determine your goals, needs, program, and budget requirements. We identify your stylistic desires and material preferences. You provide information to us about your building site, covenants and local codes. We’ll visit your site if necessary, to better understand its environment, opportunities and constraints. Then, we will create a home design that maximizes your site’s advantages, deals with its challenges, and complies with all applicable rules.

Our design fees are based on building area. You will approve a written fee agreement before we proceed with your project. We will then produce preliminary floor plans and elevation concepts for your review. Together, we will develop and refine these design concepts until you are satisfied that we have captured the essence of your dream home.

Your home design will mature and become more complete as we move from hand-drawn sketches to computer layouts. We will produce full-size floor plans, exterior elevations and a site plan for your final design approval.

When you have approved the preliminary design, our drafters will create the permit drawings from which the house will be built. Architects NW will also incorporate the structural design from a local engineer. The time frame for a custom design ranges from two months for a small home to six months for a grand estate, from our first conversations to delivery of permit drawings.
